French club Paris St-Germain have appointed German coach Thomas Tuchel as their new manager.
Tuchel, who has been out of work since leaving former German champions Borussia Dortmund in May 2017, signed a two-year contract with the Ligue 1 champions.
The 44-year-old spent two years in charge at Dortmund after succeeding Liverpool manager Jurgen Klopp in 2015.
Tuchel replaces Spaniard Unai Emery, who led PSG to the domestic treble in France this season but did not have his two-year contract extended.
PSG failed to make an impact in Europe despite their heavy spending last summer which saw the arrivals of Brazilian superstar Neymar on a world record €220m fee and France forward Kylian Mbappe.
Emery, like his predecessor Laurent Blanc, has now paid the price for their failure in Europe.Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
