Turkish Super League side Konyaspor have said they have ended their pursuit of Nigeria striker Obafemi Martins.
The club president Ahmet told newsmen in Turkey that the Obafemi Martins case is closed as he can’t leave his MLS club Seattle Sounders earlier than December, when his contract end because he is an important player to them.
“Martins will be in his club until December, when his contract ends, he is an important player for the team. Martins book is closed. However, there are alternatives,” he said.
“God willing, we will do well with the players on ground who are ready for the season.”
He stressed that the club are still shopping for top quality summer signings.
“We still search for players, in particular, the striker position and a local goalkeeper,” he disclosed.
