Nigeria U-17 women team, the Flamingoes' coach, Bala Nikyu, has expressed optimism that his team will qualify from the group stage of this year's FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup in Jordan and go all the way beyond the quarter-finals.
At the draw held on Monday in Jordan, the Flamingoes were drawn in Group C along with Brazil, England and Korea DPR.
Reacting on the draw, Nikyu told thenff.com that he also sees his team going beyond the quarter-final stage.
"The Flamingoes will prepare adequately for the World Cup, and will qualify from the group and surpass previous record of quarter final berth," Nikyu said.
Meanwhile, the Flamingoes will take on Brazil in their opening Group C match at the King Abdullah Stadium on October 1 before clashing with England on October 4 at the same venue.
Their last group phase game is against Korea DPR on October 8 at the Amman International Stadium.
The FIFA U-17 Women's World Cup will take place in three Jordanian cities of Amman, Irbid and Zarqa between 30th September to 21st October.
