  • Wow! This is a positive development!

I am happy that at least the list of players to prosecute the 2023 Under 20 Afcon is released about 13 weeks before the tournament commencement. This suggests that this NFF administration is focused on making improvements to how our various national teams prepare for tournaments.

Bosso appears to have kept faith with the bulk of players that qualified for this Afcon in swashbuckling style earlier in the year.

It augurs well for well for what to expect of this outfit.

With all four semi-finalists set to qualify for the world cup, Bosso’s chances are high. My prayer is just that he is allowed to lead the team to the world cup if Nigeria qualifies for the Afcon semifinals but ultimately fails to win any medals.

The NFF should by now have realised the errors in sacking a coach that met their primary targets so close to a tournament simply because of cosmetic shortcomings.

Good luck to Bosso and his boys!

Few players like hardworking midfielder Samson lawal is missing, the left back is also missing and the two centre forwards Abubakar Abdullahi and the other one who starts ahead of him, though he was blunt in front of goal so not surprised he didn’t make this list but Abdullahi scored a couple of goals before injury ruled him out for the rest of the tournament, probably some of the omitted names may have secured foreign contacts, crocked, poor form or may come back in the team after the first phase of elimination (screening).
Meanwhile,I’m following this team and the under 17 with keen interest because I see potentials in our youth teams who could be a fantastic addition to the super eagles especially in the midfield.
I do hope the new players bring more quality even more than we have seen from the likes of Daga.
Only time will tell whether Bosso made the right decision.

Exactly no player from Simonben academy and how are we sure Bosso is not up to something for leaving out the leftback free kick specialist from Simonben???

      • Ololo 1 year ago

The freekick guy from Simons academy plays for the u17 team not the u20

And another annoying thing is when this players get to the Top like Victor, you’ll see all sort of nasty attitude and zero commitment to fans. Omo I don’t really want to praise anything Nigeria football….

The emphasis for the coach now is to select talented and real u-20 players. He is given enough time to scout, integrate and present a formidable team. Inviting npfl players that have been playing in the league for over three seasons is not the way to go. Uncovering many other gem in the mode of the Dagas’ and onuches’ of the world should be the template to model our team on.

Top marks Sisterwoman @Mercy. Only genuine Under-20 players will be good enough.

The left and right back that played the qualify in lekan and Augustine are both missing, Dominic ohaka that played well in the friendly against Costa Rica is in the team and a good one for our team.. my greatest fear is our attack, our best player in the qualifiers in Ibrahim Muhammad is not in this list.. aside ojo Tolulope the attack looks entirely new.. what exactly happened to Muhammad, he was unarguably the best attackrr in the wafu qualifier..
