Nigeria U-20 women's team Falconets have crashed out of the ongoing 2017 FIFA Women's U-20 World Cup despite coming from a goal down to beat Spain 2-1in their last Group B game on Sunday morning, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The last time the Falconets failed to make it out of the group stage was at the maiden edition in Canada 2002.
The Falconets played the last five minutes of the game with 10 players after Gloria Ogbonna was shown a second yellow card.
Spain qualified along with Japan who top the group after thrashing Canada 5-0 while the Falconets finished third.
Alba Redondo put Spain ahead in the 7th minute. In the 11th minute the Falconets drew level through Ihuoma Onyebuchi from a corner.
