By James Agberebi:

Nigeria U-23s have qualified for the semi-final of the CAF U-23 Cup of Nations after playing a 0-0 draw against Algeria on Saturday.

The U-23 Eagles went into the game needing at least get a draw to guarantee passage into the last four.

But even a defeat would have seen them through as Mali beat Egypt 1-0 in the group’s other match.

With the draw, the U-23 Eagles finished second in the group and will face Senegal in the semi-final, while Algeria will face South Africa.

Three teams are expected to qualify automatically for the 2016 Rio Olympic Games.

Meanwhile, the team that finish fourth will take on a team from Asia in a play-off.
