–New Zealand coach eyes history
New Zealand have named their squad for the upcoming FIFA U-20 World Cup. Coach Darren Bazeley has put his faith in a 21-man pool that includes six players capped by the senior team, and ten who have been called up to the full All Whites squad.
There are also six overseas-based players heading home for the global finals, with the most prominent being midfielder and captain Bill Tuiloma, who has made a first-team breakthrough at Marseille this season.
The others are Jesse Edge (Vicenza, Italy), Monty Patterson (Ipswich Town, England), Nik Tsanev (Brentford, England) and the USA-based duo of Cory Brown (Xavier University) and Stuart Holthusen (Akron University).
“We’ve been looking at this squad for the last two years and we’ve had contact with over 100 players over the course of the two years,” said Bazeley, announcing the names.
