U-23 Eagles Star, Junior Ajayi has set his sights on earning a slot in the football event of the 2016 Olympics in Rio, Brazil.
The 3SC of Ibadan forward and his U23 Eagles teammates still have a long way to go before they can actualize that dream. They still have to scale through the final hurdle for the African U-23 Championship which serve as the qualifier for the men's football event of the 2016 Olympics.
To qualify for the competition which will be hosted by Senegal later in the year, Samson Siasia's team will have to navigate through a tricky qualifying tie against Congo.
The Congolese handled by Frenchman Claude Le Roy edged out Ghana on penalties to get to this stage.
Ajayi informed Completesportsnigeria.com that the players are firmly focused on the task ahead of them and will give their all to pick the ticket.
"It will be great to play at the Olympics," he told Completesportsnigeria.com. "We know we still have a along way to go, but we are determined not to miss out.
"Firstly, we must beat Congo and then focus on the African Championship. With the quality of players we have in camp, we should achieve all this set objectives."
