–As Villareal travel to tackle La Liga champions
Super Eagles forward, Ikechukwu Uche looks set to return to the starting line-up for Villareal tomorrow when they go on a difficult road trip to take on La Liga champions, Atletico Madrid at the dreaded Estadio Vicente Calderon.
Uche was a second half substitute in the 2-0 away win over Appollon Thursday in an Europa League tie coming on for Luciano Vietto in the 59 minutes after the latter had got his side’s second goal in the game. With the Yellow Submarines confronted with a more difficult opposition in Atletico, coach Marcelino will be aiming to put his best let forward against a formidable host who currently sit 3rd on the league table with 32 points after 14 rounds of matches.
Villareal are way down the ladder in the 6th place with 24 points and Uche and his teammates would need to be at their very best if they must get something from this tie. They might be boosted by the victory over Appollon but they need to be wary of an Atletico side who are also desperate to catch up on leaders Real Madrid with 36 points and Barcelona on 34 points.
Interestingly, both sides boast of similar credentials regarding current form as both teams go into this game having won four and drew one in their last five outings.
Uche already had four goals to his credit and the Nigerian international would be looking to add to his tally in this tie that promises lots of fireworks from both Spanish sides.
