–Villareal striker out to extend goals tally
Super Eagles striker, Ikechukwu Uche will be looking to add to his goals tally for Villarreal when they welcome Cordoba to the 24,500-capacity Camp El Madrigal tomorrow.
Uche ended his recent goals drought last weekend as the 31 years-old forward scored the only goal for the Yellow Submarine in their 1-1 draw against host Getafe to increase his goal haul this season to 6.
And returning home this weekend against bottom of the table side Cordoba, Villareal would be banking on home support to return to winning ways having failed to pick a win in their last five outings. Villareal remain stucked in the 6th position on the log with 51 points and a win against relegation-bound Cordoba will further enhance the coach Garcia Marcelino-led side’s chances of securing their Europa League slot for next season.
Villareal’s Argentine forward, Luciano Vietto remain the side’s leading scorer this season with 12 goals while Uche and Gerrard Moreno come second and third respectively with 6 and 5 goals to their credits.
