According to respected Portuguese sport news outfit abola, Super Eagles World Cup 2014 striker Michael Uchebo is set to join Boavista.
Uchebo is a free agent after failing to agree to a contract extension with his former team in Belgium Cercle Brugge.
The 24 year old has already undergone a medical and report says a two or three year contract is currently been discussed by his management team and the club’s hierarchy.
The former Enugu Rangers forward will be aiming to emulate the performances of Richard Owubokiri who played for the Portuguese team for four years from 1991-1994 scoring 50 times in 92 games.
Standing at over six feet tall, Uchebo is not known for his goalscoring abilities but fans of Boavista will be glad if their new acquisition hits the ground running like their former Nigerian hitman Owubokiri who scored 30 times in his first season with the team to clinch the top scorer award in 1991/1992 season.
