UCL: Kayode Subbed On In Shakhtar Draw Vs Lyon, Juventus, Man United Suffer Defeats

Nigeria forward,  Kayode Olanrewaju, was subbed on as Ukranian club, Shakhtar Donestk failed to secure a spot in the knock-out round of the UEFA Champions League following a 1-1 home draw against French club,  Olympic Lyon in their Group F in Kiev clash on Wednesday,  reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

Kayode came in for Viktor Kovalenko seven minutes before the end of the encounter.

Junior Moraes opened scoring for Shakhtar Donestk in the 22nd minute, while Nabil Fekir equalised for the visitors in the 65th minute.

The Miners finished in third position behind Manchester City and Lyon in the group and drop to the Europa League.

Manchester City edged out German side, Hoffenheim 2-1 in the group’s other encounter  the Etihad Stadium.

Young Boys of Switzerland created a big upset beating former champions,  Juventus 2-1 at home, while   Spanish club,  Valencia  also edged out Manchester United with the same scoreline in the group’s other encounter.

Dutch club,  Ajax Amsterdam played out a 3-3 draw against Bayern Munich at the Johan Cruijff Arena, Amsterdam.
