Nigerian winger Ahmed Musa fired blanks in CSKA Moscow’s 2-2 draw against Kehinde Fatai’s Sparta Prague in Tuesday night’s UEFA Champions League third qualifying round clash in Russia.
Musa who had boasted that his side would emerge victors failed to match his words with goals and his side now walk on a tight rope going into the second leg.
It was his compatriot Fatai who drew his side level one minute after Alan Dzagoev had given the former Russian Champions the lead in the 14th minute.
While Musa played the entire duration, Fatai was replaced by Tiemoko Konate in the 57th minute of the game.
In Israel, Nosa Igiebor could not save Maccabi Tel Aviv from losing 2-1 in front of their home fans to Viktoria Plzen.
Igiebor who scored in both legs as Maccabi Tel Aviv displaced Hibernian in the fourth round played all 90 minutes.
In Greece, Abduljeleel Ajagun played for the first 45 minutes as Panathinaikos defied a red card to defeat Brugge 2-1.
In Moldova, Ovey Monday’s FC Milsami Orhei lost 2-0 to visitors Skenderbeu
