Liverpool captain Jordan Henderson healed praise On his team’s 2-1 win against a “very strong” Hoffenheim side in the UEFA Champions League playoff first leg between both sides, but rued a late goal conceded against the Germans.
Trent Alexander-Arnold ‘s free kick and James Milner scored to hand the Reds a slight advantage heading into the second leg.
“We’re disappointed with the goal we conceded but overall we have to be pleased with the result and how we played at times, we looked dangerous on the attack,” the midfielder told BT Sport.
“We knew this would be a tough game, Hoffenheim are a very strong team. Si made a great save from the penalty but then we grew in confidence.”
The second leg comes up at Anfield next Wednesday.
