Nigerian duo, Chrisantus Macaulay and Faith Obilor’s involvement in this season’s UEFA Champions League came to an end after their Finnish club, HJK Helsinki crashed out of the competition following a 2-1 home defeat to Bate Borisov of Belarus in the second leg of their second qualifying round clash on Wednesday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
HJK held their visitors to a 0-0 draw in the first leg last week and lost 2-1 on aggregate.
Faith Obilor, a defender, started the game and lasted for the entire 90 minutes on the pitch.
Former Flying Eagles forward, Chrisantus Macaulay who made his debut for HJK in the first leg was an unused substitute in the game.
Igor Stasveich got both goals for Bate Borisov, while Moshtagh Yagboubi was on target for HJK.
Super Eagles duo, Anthony Nwakaeme and John Ogu also crashed out with Israeli club, Hapoel Be’er Sheva on Tuesday.
