Real Madrid captain, Sergio Ramos, has wished Liverpool star Mohamed Salah a quick recovery after the Egyptian suffered a shoulder injury in Saturday’s UEFA Champions League final in Kiev.
Salah, who was hoping to win his first European title with the Reds left the field in tears after injuring his shoulder following a tangle with Ramos with his side going down to a 3-1 defeat.
The injury leaves his hopes of featuring for the Pharaohs of Egypt at the 2018 FIFA World Cup in doubts after he played a big part in their qualification for the mundial, their first since the 1990 edition hosted by Italy.
Ramos, who has been widely criticised for his part in the forward’s injury took to Twitter to placate him.
“Soccer teaches you the sweetest face sometimes and the bitterest others. First of all, we are companions. Prompt recovery, Salah. The future awaits you. Sometimes football shows you it’s good side and other times the bad. Above all, we are fellow pros.
#GetWellSoon @MoSalah,” reads a tweet on Spanish international’s Twitter handle.
Karim Benzema opened scoring for Real Madrid in the game, while Saido Mane equalised for the Reds.
Substitute Gareth Bale took centre stage with a brace, the first a sublime over head kick.
