Super Eagles goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama says he is not scared of playng against Arsenal when the draw for the final play-off round of the UEFA Champions League is made tomorrow in Nyon, Switzerland.
Enyeama returned to action on Tuesday night and helped Lille move to within a step of this season’s Champions League group stage despite being held to a 1-1 draw by 10-man Grasshoppers of Switzerland on Tuesday in the third qualifying round.
Lille held a 2-0 advantage from the first leg in Zurich and stretched their lead on 19 minutes at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy as Florent Balmont fired in a spectacular 25-yard strike.
The Nigerian was asked after the game which of the five seeded teams (Arsenal,Porto,Napoli,Bayer Leverkusen and Athletic Bilbao/Zenit) he would like Lille to draw tomorrow.
‘I want a favourable draw.It could be Arsenal,Porto,Napoli…we are ready for any team.I do not believe in impossibilities.I remain positive.I want to play in the champions league again,’said the Super Eagle who who thanked God for the qualification for the play-off round.
Enyeama was also asked if he has had a good rest after ensuring Nigeria made it to the last 16 of the FIFA World Cup last month in Brazil.
‘I haven’t because I had only three weeks rest when it should have been six weeks.
But this is my job. I have to help the team,’said the ever-smiling Nigerian.
