Ugbade Hails Red Hot Iheanacho

By Richard Jideaka, Abuja:

The scintillating form of Nigeria’s teenage sensation, Kelechi Iheanacho in Manchester City shirt in their pre season tour of United States of America has won him praises, Complete Sports can report.

Manchester City Coach Manuel Pellegrini recently made a remark about the Nigerian youngster, saying he is a very important player and this has clearly revealed the interest the club has in the former U-17 Golden Eaglets star.

Ugbade who was the national U-17 team’s assistant coach when Iheanacho and his colleagues won the U-17 FIFA World Cup in Dubai said he is not surprised about what the Nigerian youngster is doing at Man City.

“I have always known that Iheanacho was heading to the top with the way he played and comported himself all through our camping and competitions at the U-17 qualifiers and the World Cup,” begins Ugbade.

“He is quick, strong and skilful and I never doubted or faulted his going to star studded Man City” Ugbade said, adding “he is good enough to play among the best players in the world.”

The former Nigeria international observed that the Nigerian youth player needs enough playing time to gain confidence and sharpen his game, noting that a loan move to another EPL side might help him develop faster with regular game times in a club that is less star studded.

Ugbade however urged Iheanacho to remain focus and always play to instructions of his coaches, stressing that if he remains focused , he will surely develop in a short while.
