Ugbade: Oliseh, Enyeama Clash Could Tear Eagles Apart

By James Agberebi:

Former Nigeria international, Nduka Ugbade, has stated that the rift between Super Eagles coach Sunday Oliseh and goalkeeper Vincent Enyeama could cause division in the team.

Enyeama and Oliseh clashed in Belgium on Tuesday night but the Lille keeper escaped being thrown out of the team's Verviers Hotel camp following the intervention of Nigeria Football Federation president, Amaju Pinick, and senior players in the team.

In a chat with completesportsnigeria.com, Ugbade, who is a former team-mate of Oliseh in the Eagles, said: "Whenever there is rift between players, it will affect the team negatively.

"And whenever there is a rift between a player and a coach, it affects the player negatively, it will impact on the player's performance. But no matter what, the coach will always think of what is best for him as regards the team."

The former Flying Eagles assistant coach also pointed out that there is not much the NFF can do especially when key decisions about the team rest squarely on the coach.

"There is no role the NFF can play when the coach has absolute authority to make decisions. The best they can do is just try to know the heart of the coach," Ugbade told completesportsnigeria.com.
