Flying Eagles assistant coach Nduka Ugbade believes the CAF U-23 Cup of Nations is a good experience for striker Victor Osimhen.
The youngster was a late inclusion in Samson Siasia's squad after excelling at the FIFA U-17 World Cup.
Ugbade who assisted coach Manu Garba when Nigeria won the U-17 world title in 2013 spoke with Completesportsnigeriam.com.
"Victor Osimhen will benefit immensely from participating at the CAF U-23 Cup of Nations in Senegal " Ugbade said.
"The young man recently played in the FIFA U-17 World Cup so we were not expecting him to play all the matches. He can play 10,15 or 20 minutes and that will be okay.
"Having Isaac Success in the team would have been wonderful but Osimhen too can be a game changer for the U-23 team."
Nigeria will play against Egypt in their second game of the tournament at the Stade Caroline Faye, M'Bour on Wednesday.
Nigeria defeated Mali 3-2 on Sunday in their first game of the CAF U-23 AFCON.
