Alex Iwobi churned out a five-star display for Arsenal who ended their five-year winless streak against Chelsea with a 3-0 win at the Emirates stadium on Saturday.
Iwobi who was making his third start in the Premier League for the Gunners had a hand in Arsenal’s second goal and was named man of the match for his brilliance. He is yet to score this season.
His compatriot Victor Moses was benched for the whole game while Super Eagles skipper Mikel Obi was not listed for the encounter.
At Old Trafford, Ahmed Musa was not considered for the bench as Leicester City lost 4-1 to a rejuvenated Manchester Ubited side. It was the first time the 23 year old was left out of the match-day squad this season since joining for £18m.
At the Liberty stadium, Kelechi Iheanacho was benched for Manchester City’s 3-1 win over Swansea.
In the Championship, Carl Ikeme made his ninth appearance for Wolverhampton Wanderers who defeated Brentford 3-1 at the Molineux Stadium on Saturday.
Ikeme has kept three clean sheets and has conceded ten goals in goal for Wolves.
At the Craven Cottage, Sone Aluko returned to action for Fulham who lost 4-0 to Bristol City. The NIgerian forward played all 90 minutes for Fulham.
In Turkey, Aminu Umar saw 80 minutes of action for Osmanlispor FK who forced Istanbul Basaksehir to a 2-2 draw on Saturday.
Adam Maher replaced Umar with ten minutes left to play in his fourth league appearance for Osmanlispor. Despite scoring four goals in the UEFA Europa League Aminu is yet to open his goal account in the Turkish Super Lig.
At the Huseyin Avni Aker stdium, Ogenyi Onazi came on for Okay Yokuslu with one minute left to play in Trabzonspor’s 1-0 win over Konyaspor. It was his sixth appearance of the campaign.
In China, Anthony Ujah scored a brace for his club, Liaoning Whowin FC in Saturday’s 3-0 victory against Yanbian Fude FC in the Chinese Super League clash at the Shenyang Olympic Stadium.
Zambian striker James Chamanga opened scoring for Liaoning 13 minutes into the match, before Ujah wrapped up the win with a brace in the 45th and 90th minutes to end the game 3-0 at full time.
The brace took his tally to five this season in 10 appearances, since joining The Northeast Tigers from German Bundesliga side SV Werder Bremen in the summer of 2016.
In Slovakia,Yusuf Otubanjo scored his sixth goal of the season for Zilina who defeated Zlaté Moravce 2-0.
