–Nwofor also on target, Enyeama keeps 7th clean sheet, Onazi misses fifth straight Serie A game; Emenike’s goal drought extends to five games

Mikel Obi (CHELSEA); Sone Aluko (HULL CITY): Nigerian midfield duo of John Mikel Obi and Sone Aluko both made their second starts of the EPL season for their respective sides at Stamford Bridge as Hull City slumped to a 2-0 loss to Chelsea. It was Aluko’s ninth appearance for the Tigers this season. He was replaced in the 64th minute by Robert Brady while Mikel in his ninth game of the season made way for Ramires in the 82nd minute.

Kenneth Omeruo (MIDDLESBROUGH): Nigerian defender Kenneth Omeruo was benched in Middlesbrough’s 2-0 win over Derby County. Omeruo has made 11 starts in the Championship season.

Odion Ighalo (WATFORD): Nigerian attacker, Odion Ighalo, played for 23 minutes for Watford who condemned struggling Wigan to a third-successive Championship defeat with a 2-1 win. The 25-year-old Ighalo has three goals from 14 Championship games so far.

Victor Anichebe, Brown Ideye (WEST BROM): Nigerian striker, Brown Ideye, played all 90 minutes in his fourth start for West Brom who ended their run of five Premier League matches with a 1-0 win against Aston Villa at the Hawthorns. Anichebe was benched for the entire duration of the game in what should have been his ninth of the campaign.

Danny Shittu (MILLWALL): The ex-Super Eagles defender earned the man of the match award in Millwall’s 1-0 win over hosts Brighton and Hove Albion 1-0 on Friday in an English Championship game. The 34-year-old Shittu has scored a goal from five Championship matches this season.

Sammy Ameobi (NEWCASTLE): In-form Nigerian winger, Sammy Ameobi, played for 56 minutes in Newcastle’s 4-1 loss against Arsenal on Saturday. The 22-year-old was replaced by Remy Cabella. Ameobi has played 12 games and has scored once for Newcastle.

Emmanuel Emenike (Fenerbache); Macauley Chrisantus, John Utaka (Sivasspor): Nigerian striker Emmanuel Emenike fired blanks in Fenerbache’s 4-1 home win against Sivasspor who played Macauley Chrisantus for the last seven minutes. Emenike has failed to score in five games. His last goal was against Besiktas. The former Karabukspor forward has played 12 Super Lig games and has scored twice.

Raheem Lawal (Eskisehirspor): Nigerian midfielder Raheem Lawal played all 90 minutes for Eskisehirspor in their 1-0 loss away to Kasimpasa. He was yellow carded in the 32nd minute. It was Lawal’s 12th game of the campaign, scoring two goals.

Nnamdi Oduamadi (CROTONE): Nnamdi Oduamadi was an unused substitute for Crotone in their 1-0 loss at home to Pro Vercelli on Saturday. The AC Milan loanee has scored once in 10 Serie B appearances.

Ogenyi Onazi (LAZIO): Super Eagles midfielder, Ogenyi Onazi, was an unused substitute for Lazio who defeated Atalanta 3-0 at the Olimpico stadium on Sunday. Onazi has missed his side’s last five games but has played seven Serie A games.

Efe Ambrose (CELTIC): Nigerian defender Efe Ambrose played all 90 minutes for Celtic who secured their eighth consecutive league win and established a six-point lead at the top of the Premiership with a comfortable win against St Mirren. It was Ambrose’s 11th game of the SPL season.

Austin Ejide, John Ogu (Hapoel Be’er Sheva): Nigeria midfielder John Ogu was replaced in the 64th minute of Hapoel Be’er Sheva’s 2-0 loss against Bnei Sakhnin on Sunday at the Doha stadium.

Ogu has played all 13 games of Hapoel this term, notching one goal. Hapoel Be’er Sheva are now third in the league table with 25 points from 13 games. Austin Ejide was in goal for Hapoel Be’er Sheva and has now conceded 13 goals.

Nosa Igiebor (Maccabi Tel Aviv): Nigerian midfielder Nosa Igiebor was on from start to finish in his ninth start in Maccabi Tel Aviv’s 3-1 win away against Hapoel Petah Tikva who paraded the duo of Michael Tukura and Chimezie Mbah for the entire duration of the game. Igiebor has one goal to his credit.Tukura has fired blanks in 12 starts while Mbah has failed to score in ten games.

Harmony Ikande (Hapoel Tel Aviv): Former Flying Eagles midfielder Harmony Ikande was benched in Hapoel Tel Aviv’s 2-1 loss at home to Maccabi Petah Tikva. Ikande has bagged one goal in 12 appearances in the Ligat Ha’al.

Olanrewaju Kayode (Maccabi Netanya); Juwon Oshaniwa,Yero Bello (Ashdod): Former Flying Eagles forward, Olanrewaju Kayode, failed to add to his five goal tally for Maccabi Netanya who drew goalless against FC Ashdod that handed Yero Bello his 11th start of the season. It was Kayode’s 12th start of the campaign. His compatriot Oshaniwa was an unused substitute.

Success Isaac (GRANADA): Former Flying Eagles forward Isaac Success was an unused substitute in Granada’s 2-1 loss away to Espanyol on Sunday. Success has scored once in 12 La Liga appearances. Granada, who are 16th on the log with 12 points from 15 games, are winless in 11 games and two points above the relegation zone.

Ikechukwu Uche (Villareal): Super Eagles striker played for 66 minutes before being replaced by Moi Gómez in Villareal’s 1-0 win against Atlético Madrid.

It was his 13th appearance in the La Liga this term albeit scoring four goals.

Uche Nwofor (Lierse): Super Eagles striker Uche Nwofor opened his goal account for Lierse when he rescued a point for the Jupiler side in their 3-3 draw against Westerlo. The former junior international who replaced Dorge Kouemaha on 80 minutes for his sixth game, struck in the 84th minute to salvage a point for his team.

Simeon Nwankwo (Gil Vicente), Obiora Nwankwo (Academy de Coimbra): Nigerian midfielder Nwankwo Obiora played from start to finish in Academica’s 1-1 draw away to Gil Vicente. The game was his 13th of the season. His Nigerian counterpart, Simeon Nwankwo, also was on for 90 minutes. It was his 13th game, scoring three goals.

Michael Uchebo, Gabriel Reuben (Boavista): Nigerian midfielder Reuben Gabriel played from start to finish as Boavista pipped Vitoria Setubal 1-0. It was his fifth game so far. His team-mate Michael Uchebo who has six game under his belt with one goal, was an unused substitute.

Ayodele Adeleye (OFI): Nigerian defender Ayodele Adeleye played for 90 minutes but couldn’t prevent his side from losing 2-0 away to Panionios. It was Adeleye’s 13th game for OFI.

Daniel Adejo (Kalloni): Nigerian defender Daniel Adejo saw action for 90 minutes in his team’s 0-0 home draw against Panaitolikos. It was Adejo’s 12th of the current campaign.

Vincent Enyeama (LILLE): Nigerian skipper Vincent Enyeama kept his seventh clean sheet of the season in goal for Lille who defeated Toulouse 3-0 at the Stade Pierre-Mauroy to end their miserable eight game win-less streak. Enyeama who has been ever present in goal for Lille last kept a clean sheet in the Ligue 1 in his side’s 1-0 win against SC Bastia in August. He has conceded 15 goals in 17 games so far. Lille are currently 12th with 21 points from 17 games.

Anthony Ujah (Cologne), Chinedu Obasi (Schalke 04): Nigeria striker Anthony Ujah scored his sixth goal of the season for Cologne who defeated Schalke 04 2-1 on Saturday to earn them their first win against Schalke since 1993 in a German Bundesliga game.

Ujah scored in the 47th minute for Cologne in his 14th Bundesliga game. They are now 10th in the league table with 18 points from 15 games. Obasi who wasn’t listed for the encounter has made six appearances
