Nigeria striker Anthony Ujah missed a 38th minute penalty in Werder Bremen’s 1-1 draw at home to his former team FC Cologne on Saturday.
Ujah who earned the Green and White a point in their last game against Stuttgart has scored seven goals in 16 Bundesliga games.
In Belgium, Super Eagles midfielder Onyinye Ndidi played all 90 minutes in his 14th league appearance for the season for Genk as they battled to 0-0 result away to Westerlo. He is yet to score and has received three yellow cards.
In England, Super Eagles forward Odion Ighalo scored his 10th EPL goal of the season in debut season for Watford who defeated Sunderland by a lone goal at the Stadium of Light on Saturday.
The Nigerian international who has now scored 26 goals in for Watford in 2015 to keep him as the top scorer in all English divisions for the out-going year swept home Alan Nyom cross for the Hornets’ opener in the fourth minute.
At the Ethiad stadium, Kelechi Iheanacho replaced goal-scorer Wilfred Bony as Manchester City returned to winning ways with a 2-1 win over struggling Swansea City.
It was Iheanacho's 11th appearance for Manuel Pellegrini's side this term.
In Scotland, Juwon Oshaniwa was an unused substitute in Hearts' 1-0 loss to Aberdeen in the Scottish Premiership.
Oshaniwa has made 12 league appearances for Hearts who are still third on the log despite the defeat.
