Super Eagles midfielder and Amkar Perm of Russia, star Izunna Uzochukwu, has picked winning the Danish title and earning a call-up to the senior national team as his greatest moment in 2015.
Uzochukwu won the Danish Superliga with FC Midtjylland earlier in the year before joining Amkar Perm in July on a three year contract.
Izunna, having twice previously finished as runners-up in the Superliga in both 2007 and 2008, told Completesportsnigeria.com that the draw against FC Vestsjaelland which secured FC Midtjylland their first Danish title in May was one of the most pensive moods he could ever find himself prior to the game.
"Before the game I had a long night about the game, but when we got on to the pitch it was a different feeling.
"We were leading the log with nine points and needed a draw to clinch it, but playing away against a relegation threatened side was enough motivation.
"The hosts came at us and we also had our moments too. However, getting what we needed to win the title was something special to me at the club which remains dear to my heart.
"That was the moment I have been waiting for, for such a long time, when I became a regular for FC Midtjylland because we came close twice in 2007 and 2008.
"The feeling is really worth every bit of it. It is really, really special for me."
Izunna also added that the winning his first call-up to the Super Eagles was the defining moment, but rued the thigh injury halted his progression at the national team.
"It was an honor for me to make my debut for Nigeria, but injuries at times could be a big setback.
"But I'm fully fit and I hope to get another chance again in the new year."
