Super Eagles goalkeeper Francis Uzoho has thanked the Icelandic team for their kind gesture towards Nigerian international Carl Ikeme who is down with acute leukemia.
Uzoho stated this in Thursday’s press conference ahead of Friday’s must-win game against Iceland.
After their impressive 1-1 draw against Argentina, the Icelandic squad posed for a picture with Ikeme’s former Wolverhampton Wanderers teammate Jon Dadi Bodvarsson holding a jersey with the Nigerian keeper’ s name on it.
“It’s a very nice gesture from the players.”
Uzoho will be in action for the Super Eagles and hope to help his side secure their first win of the tournament.
The young goalkeeper was beaten twice against Croatia in the Super Eagles’ opener.Copyright © 2020 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
