Barcelona manager Ernesto Valverde is anticipating a difficult game for his side against Chelsea in the first leg, round 16 of the UEFA Champions League at Stamford Bridge on Tuesday.
Chelsea and Barcelona will rekindle their rivalry when they clash at the Bridge.
The last time they met was in the semi-final in the 2011/2012 Champions League season.
Chelsea prevailed over Barcelona 3-2 on aggregate and went on to win their first-ever Champions League title after beating Bayern Munich 4-3 on penalties in the final.
“Chelsea are a physical team who defend really well and they have the players to cause problems on the counter. Tomorrow the Champions League starts again,” Valverde said during his pre-match press conference on Monday.
“It’s an important tie for everyone. It will be tough because of the opponent but we want to progress in the competition.”Copyright © 2022 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
