Van Gaal: Man United Have To Beat Newcastle

Manchester United boss Louis van Gaal has charged his players to go all out for victory against Newcastle in Tuesday’s Premier League clash at St. James’ Park.
In his pre-match press conference, van Gaal praised the Magpies for their recent performances but hoped they do well.
“We have won two times in a row and maybe it shall give us a boost. You never know. But now we are playing away, it’s also different and Newcastle United is playing very well I think.
“Ok, I saw their game against Arsenal and they played very well. But they didn’t win and that’s the most important thing in football. I don’t hope that they win against us. We have to beat them.”
Van Gaal revealed that Bastian Schweinsteiger will be out of the game against Newcastle, while commenting on the current situation with Adnan Januzaj who just returned from a loan spell with Dortmund.
“Bastian Schweinsteiger is injured, that we know. We have to see if [other] players are still overloaded or not.
“We have reconsidered and we think we have to build him up for the game and not to risk too much, by putting him in a match.”
He also reflected on fans reaction in United’s 1-0 win against Sheffield in the Saturday’s FA Cup match.
“What do I do now? React to Paul Scholes? You want that?
“They [the fans] are thinking that we could not score, and maybe because of the traffic they decide to leave a few minutes earlier.
“There are many reasons to leave the stadium. When I was looking at matches to analyse our opponents, then I would leave the stadium five minutes before.
“You never know the reason. You can be very negative, but we are in the next round, won two matches out of a very bad period.
“I can understand that, because it was an effect that we were not shooting too much and not able to shoot at goal too much,” said the United boss.
“That they were ironic, I can imagine.”
