Van Gaal To Man United Fans: Boo Me, Not Players

Van Gaal To Man United Fans: Boo Me, Not Players

Manchester United manager Louis Van Gaal has appealed to the club's fans to stop booing the players.

The fans showed their displeasure on Tuesday night with loud boos when Anthony Martial was replaced by Marouane Fellaini as United chased a goal against CSKA Moscow.

"Supporters have to support otherwise they make it more difficult for the players," said Van Gaal during his press conference on Friday ahead of Saturday's Premier League fixture with West Brom.

"It’s very difficult to play for Manchester United with a lot of pressure and you can taste that in Old Trafford because of all the yelling, so it’s better to whistle the manager, I can cope with it."

Van Gaal also confirmed that he has no fresh injury worries ahead of the Premier League clash against West Bromwich Albion this weekend.

Antonio Valencia is still sidelined with a foot injury, while Morgan Schneiderlin trained on Friday after missing the CSKA Moscow win in midweek through illness.

However, van Gaal in his pre-match press conference refused to divulge whether or not Schneiderlin would be available against West Brom, insisting “we must wait and see”.

Gaal told MUTV:  "Morgan Schneiderlin was ill. He shall train today for the first time so we have to wait and see. I cannot say there are a lot of changes for this game. Matteo Darmian is suspended so he cannot play and Valencia is injured."

Darmian is suspended for the game at the Hawthorns as he received his fifth yellow card of the campaign against Crystal Palace last week.

Van Gaal and United relieved some of the pressure from themselves following the three points against Ahmed Musa's CSKA Moscow but supporters will be eager for them to build on the win against West Brom.

Prior to the CSKA match, United had failed to score in three consecutive games and they have looked toothless from an offensive point of view in recent weeks.
