Vardy Breaks EPL Goals Record As Leicester, Man United Draw

Jamie Vardy broke the English Premier League goal-scoring held by Ruud Van Nistelrooy when the Leicester striker became the first player to score in 11 consecutive appearances after netting Leicester City’s only goal in their 1-1 draw against Manchester United in Saturday’s late fixture.

Vardy, who has now scored 14 league goals, put Leicester City in front in the 24th minute.

But one minute into added time in the first half, United drew level thanks to a header by Bastian Schweinsteiger off a Darley Blind corner kick.

The second half saw both teams make changes with Leicester taking off Shinji Okazaki, Marc Albrighton and Danny Simpson for Jose Leonardo Ulloa, Jeffery Schlupp and Ritchie De Laet respectively.

For United, Wayne Rooney was the only player who was substituted as he came off for Memphis Depay.

The changes failed to produce any goal as both teams settled for the 1-1 draw.

With this result, Leicester drop to second place on 29 points while United are third on 28 points.
