Nominees' October profiles:

Winner of the Complete Sports Player of the Month for September Odion Ighalo is in the running for the award again as he continued his brilliant form in October.

Ighalo, who has scored seven goals in 11 Premier League appearances for promoted Watford was also a nominee for Premier League Player of the Month for September.

Just like in the month of September, Ighalo continued from where he left off when on October 3, Watford played a 1-1 draw against Bournemouth. Going behind in the 28th minute, Ighalo rescued a point for Watford when he drew them level in the 45th minute.

Then on October 8, in an international friendly game against DR Congo, the Super Eagles lost 2-0 with Ighalo in action. But three days later, he scored the Eagles' third goal in their 3-0 win against Cameroon.

On October 17, Watford entertained Arsenal at Vicarage Road but they lost 3-0 with Ighalo featuring for the Hornets.
Against Stoke on October 24, Ighalo turned provider as his two assists helped Watford defeat Stoke City 2-0 at the Britania.

And on October 31, against West Ham United, who are one of the most in-form teams in England, Ighalo scored a brace in a 2-0 win.

That's four more goals for the prolific hitman in October.

After departing West Bromwich Albion following a not-too-impressive stint with the Midlands club, Brown Ideye seems to have rediscovered his scoring touch since joining Olympiakos.

Though it took a while before he opened his goals account, it is evident that Ideye has settled down in his new environment following his recent goal scoring feat.

With the recent invitation of Obafemi Martins back to the Super Eagles after a two-year absence, Ideye could still make a return to the team, provided he keeps performing for Olympiakos.

Ideye scored his first goal for Olympiakos on October 4 in a 2-0 win against PAOK in the league. He was on target again on October 17 when he grabbed one of the goals in Olympiakos' 4-0 win against AEK Athens. On parade for AEK was former junior international, Macauley Chrisantus.

In the UEFA Champions League clash away to Dinamo Zagreb on October 20, Ideye was the hero for Olympiakos as he scored the only goal in the 1-0 win.

Five days later, Ideye was back in action in the league and helped Olympiakos defeat Atromitos 2-1 away. This time he didn't score.

He was back amongst the goals when on October 31, Olympiakos went away to face Veria. Ideye scored one of the goals as Olympiakos won 2-0.

Emulating the likes of Macauley Chrisantus, Taiwo Awoniyi, Issac Success and Kelechi Iheanacho, who lit up past U-17 World Cups with breath-taking goals, Nigeria seem to have unearthed another gem in the person of Victor Osimhen.

Tall, strong, skillful and fast, Osimhen has turned out to be a menace against every opponent the Eaglets have played against in Chile. Eight goals in five games against the likes of Brazil, Chile, USA, Chile and the rest, have proved how lethal Osimhen is. And with a last four clash against Mexico coming up, who can bet against him not adding to his current goal tally?

Osimhen wasted no time in making his presence felt at the U-17 World Cup when the Eaglets took on USA in their first match on October 17. Netting one of the goals, Osimhen helped the Eaglets to a 2-0 win against the Americans.

Against the host Chile, on October 20, the Eaglets won 5-1, with Osimhen helping himself to two goals. And with qualification already secured, the Eaglets took on Croatia on October 23, and yet again, Osimhen was on target. But his goal wasn't enough as the Eaglets lost 2-1.

Five days later, the Eaglets were back to winning ways when they took on Australia in the secound round of the World Cup. The Eaglets ran riot as they put six past the Australians with Osimhen scoring a hat-trick.
