Former home-based Super Eagles star Aremu Afeez was an unused substitute for IK Start who edged third-tier club Egersund 1-0 away in the third round (round of 32) of the Norwegian Cup on Wednesday.
Ik Start’s goal was scored by Mathias Bringaker in the 76th minute which secured the visitors’ passage into the round of 16.
They have never won the Norwegian Cup but have reached the semi-finals on five occassions.
Afeez has made eight league appearances, scoring one goal, since joining IK Start in January this year from Nigeria’s Westerlo Football Academy on a three-year deal.
The 18-year-old played for Akwa United on loan from Westerlo in the Nigeria Professional Football League last season and was part of the team that won the Aiteo Cup.
He was part of Nigeria’s home-based Super Eagles team that came second at the 2017 West Africa Football Union (WAFU) Nations Cup in Ghana.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
