Tottenham Hotpur and Kenyan midfielder Victor Wanyama has described Nigeria international Efe Ambrose as one of the best defenders he has played with.
Wanyama played alongside Ambrose in the 2012/2013 season before joining Southampton.
Ambrose, 28, has played more than 150 times for Celtic since arriving from Israeli side Ashdod in the summer of 2012, but has become an outcast under Brendan Rodgers at Celtic Park.
The 2013 Africa Cup of Nations winner, has played just twice for Celtic since Rodgers arrived as manager in May, and both came in Champions League qualifiers against Lincoln Red Imps and Astana back in July.
But despite Ambrose's current situation at Celtic, Wanyama still rate him as one of the outstanding defenders he has played alongside with.
“Efe Ambrose is not just a nice guy off the pitch, but a very solid man on the pitch as well,” Wanyama told the Scottish Sun.
“He is one of the finest defenders I have played with,” he added.
