Watford captain Troy Deeney has praised his striking partnership at the Premier League club with Super Eagles striker Odion Ighalo and likens it with the partnership of Manchester United legends, Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole.
Deeney who scored through a penalty on Saturday in their 2-1 defeat suffered against Leicester City, on a live Skysports programme monitored by Completesportsnigeria.com Monday said:
"We didn't really work on our partnership before but we complement each other well. Odion has got quick feet in and around the box. He gets behind the defenders and he goes up believing "I'm going to win."
"In the West Brom game, he had more shots than West Brom I believe. He's done a great season. His link-up game is good. Yeah, we are like Dwight Yorke and Andy Cole.
We understand our movements," the English striker said in agreement to the comparison drawn by the presenter.
Watford are 11th in the Barclays Premier League table going into the international break.
Ighalo who has scored seven league goals this season is expected to be key in Nigeria's 2018 World Cup qualification game away against Swaziland on Friday.
