Watford’s Dodi Lukebakio has laughed off comparisons to Cristiano Ronaldo after his superb hat-trick against Bayern Munich on Saturday. On a season-long loan at Fortuna Dusseldorf, Lukebakio becoming the first Bundesliga player since Ebbe Sand in 2001 to score a hat-trick against Bayern in his side’s 3-3 draw at the Allianz Arena.
“Please, do not compare me with (Cristiano) Ronaldo, it’s impossible,” he said after the game. “I have only one word to describe this game and it’s ‘incredible’.”

The 21-year-old Belgian attacker also became the first player in Bundesliga history to put three past the great Manuel Neuer in one game. “Manuel Neuer is an excellent goalkeeper and a great name, but I did not think about that on the field,” added Lukebakio, who made one substitute appearance for the Hornets last season.
“The most important thing now is to keep my head on my shoulders. “We knew that we were playing against the best team in Germany. We knew it would be a really tough game, and it’d be difficult to get anything from it. But we came here believing we could get a result, and we didn’t give up. It was a fantastic performance.”
