Weightlifter from 13 states of the Federation have arrived Ibadan, Oyo State for trials aimed at selecting lifters that will represent Nigeria at this year's All Africa Games, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The 2015 All African Games is scheduled for September 4-19 in Brazzaville, Congo.
Obafemi Awolowo Stadium, Ibadan is the venue for the trials which hold from Thursday July 2 to Sunday, July 5.
Amonst the early arrivals are the contingents of Kogi, Lagos, Plateau, Jigawa, Bauchi, Edo, Delta, Imo, Akwa Ibom Cross Rivers, Anambra and hosts, Oyo State.
The zonal coordinator, National Sports Commission (NSC) zone one, who doubles as member of NWF, Dr. Steve Olarinoye assured of a hitch-free event, saying every logistic arrangement has been put in place to ensure all the participants enjoy a memorable stay in Ibadan.
Olarinoye said the Ibadan trials would help in identifying good weightlifter to represent the country at the All Africa Games since the National Sports Commission (NSC) was yet to call for camping ahead of the biggest sports event on the continent of Africa.
"The essence of this trial is for the federation to get the best weightlifter ahead of the AAG", Olarinoye told Completesportsnigeria.com
