Arsenal striker Danny Welbeck believes Emile Smith Rowe has a bright future after making his full debut on Wednesday. Unai Emery named Smith in his starting XI for Wednesday’s Carabao Cup third round clash with Brentford on Wednesday.
The academy graduate was bright throughout the encounter as Arsenal booked their place in the fourth round courtesy of a 3-1 win at the Emirates.
Welbeck, who netted twice, was delighted to see the 18-year-old get his chance and feels their is plenty more to come.
“He’s a great player, we see it every day in training and he’s had lots of great performances in the under-23s,” Welbeck said.
“We see the ability when he has got, and everyone has welcomed him and tried to give him advice and he has a lot of talent. We hope to see a lot more of him in the first team.”
