Wenger: Arsenal Still In EPL Title Race, We Don’t Need Hart

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has pleaded with the club's fans to get behind the team as they bid to turn around their recent poor run in the English Premier League.

Arsenal suffered back-to-back defeat to two London teams Watford and Chelsea in the spate of four days but Wenger insists that his side will not give up on the title despite being 12 points behind leaders Chelsea.

Wenger also admits that his side face a tough test when they take on Hull City who recently drew away to Manchester United and defeated Liverpool at the KCOM Stadium.

"We are here to win football games and when we don’t we are disappointed. It’s a good test at an important time of the season." Wenger said in his pre-match conference ahead of Saturday's Premier League clash with Hull.

"We have a big fight in the Premier League and Champions League and still the FA Cup.

"We want to do well in all competitions, we need to get the fans behind the team because this is an important time and we need to do it together.

"If it is over for us, it is over for everybody else.

"We are together in the pack there. If you can reduce the distance to Chelsea, you never know. They are in a strong position.

"I thought Hull played well since the start of the season.

"They were a bit unlucky sometimes and will be tough opposition for us."

Wenger is boosted by the return of Mohammed Elneny from the Africa Cup of Nations although the Egypt midfielder left Gabon disappointed as the Pharaohs lost the AFCON title to Cameroon.

"He is of course disappointed that they lost in the final but he had a quality session yesterday," Wenger added.

Wenger also dismissed media reports claiming Jack Wilshere will join Bournemouth on a permanent deal in the summer.

The Frenchman also ruled out a move for England goalkeeper Joe Hart who is currently on loan at Italian side Torino.

"No. I have three world class goalkeepers and I’m happy with the three I have," he said.

He also stated that nothing's changed regarding his future at the club since last week.

"I believe once again thank you for taking care of my future. My future is in front of me every time I make a half-turn.

"I dedicate my whole energy for Arsenal to do well. I answer that every week, nothing has changed compared to last week, that’s basically it."
