Wenger Backs Iwobi To Go Places With His Talent, Humility

Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has tasked Alex Iwobi to keep his feat on the ground following another impressive display in the side's 4-1 win against Hull City on Saturday, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.

The winger took to Twitter to express his disappointment after having what looked like a legitimate goal awarded to his teammate, Alexis Sanchez.

And the Frenchman has charged him to remain humble in order to fulfill his potentials at the Emirates.

"Yes, he had a good performance, and you want him to improve," Wenger told reporters after the game.

"He is 20 years old, and I think he has talent, he has ambition, he has a big passion for the game and until now he has humility.

"We have to take care he keeps that quality, because it is an important one.


"But he has gained confidence and power. I believe as well he has a good combination between quick passing, picking players out and running with the ball. He gets that balance right until now, and that's not easy.

The former Monaco coach also highlighted reasons why he gave the Nigerian international the opportunity to play in the first team last season despite the glut of talented players at the club.

"I started him last year because I've seen that there's something in him that is quality of vision, quality of give and go, of movement.

"He can break the lines with a pass and individually as well, so there is a lot in the locker. Overall, he is only 20 years old,‎ so you could see that he has gained in confidence now.

"He can take people on much more and he has gained power as well. It's interesting what he has done."
