Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is confident the Gunners can maintain their brilliant start to the English Premier League with another win over bitter rivals Tottenham Hotspur in Sunday's North London derby at the Emirates.
Having defeated Chelsea 3-0 in a derby last month, the Gunners face a struggling Tottenham side who have not won a game since October 2 and were outclassed 1-0 by Bayer Leverkusen on Wednesday night in the UEFA Champions League.
Wenger is also confident that Aaron Ramsey could be a key figure on Sunday against Tottenham, but Arsenal could be without Kieran Gibbs, Santi Cazorla and Nacho Monreal for the game.
"It is an interesting clash. For us it is important for where we are in the league. It is very tight," Wenger said during his pre-match press conference on Thursday.
"It's a very important game… we're in a strong position in the league and we want to strengthen.
"I consider the next game and try and find the balance. Ramsey has come back from injury – he can bring strengths.
"I speak with all the players about their performances and positions, most of the time you want the players to be happy."
The Frenchman also added Jack Wilshere still has a future at Arsenal.
Wilshere, 24, is currently at Bournemouth on a season-long loan.
"I think he has, but that is my opinion," added Wenger.
He said recovering Theo Walcott has a chance of featuring on Sunday.
“I left Hector Bellerin behind in midweek because I was cautious with him. I think he should be alright," Wenger explained.
