Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger expects his side to bounce back from Tuesday's disappointing 2-1 defeat to Everton when they face Manchester City at the Etihad Stadium on Sunday, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
The Gunners lost their second game of the campaign against the Ronald Koeman's side and are six points behind leaders Chelsea.
Ahead of Sunday's cracker at the Etihad, the Frenchman has tipped his side to win convincingly.
"Of course, I want our fans to be happy and have confidence in the team and the best way to do that is to avoid back to back defeats," the former AS Monaco gaffer stated during his interaction with the media on Friday ahead of the game against the Citizens.
"I have confidence in my team, we have a good record in 2016. The team has moved forward and we have a good opportunity to show that.
"We have a long term target to fight for the Premier League, and we know when you have a target like that you have disappointments. It's about how we respond to that."
Wenger also has kind words for Manchester City manager, Pep Guardiola ahead of the game and for his team as well.
"Manchester City are a very good footballing side, more attacking now under Pep Guardiola.
" He brings his philosophy through. I respect the fact that he tries to bring it through. You expect him to bring that print on that team.
"What you want from a top level game is that it performs to the level of expectations and I hope we will achieve that.
" I expect always a big game to be something special, a special performance for people who love football."
