Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has admitted that it will be difficult for the Gunners, or any other side in the division, to stop Chelsea from running away with the Premier League title this season.
The Frenchman was forced to watch his side squander a lead for the second time in a week on Sunday afternoon as late goals from Gylfi Sigurdsson and Bafetimbi Gomis inflicted a damaging defeat on the north Londoners.
As a result, Garry Monk’s men have leapfrogged their opponents in the Premier League standings to leave Arsenal languishing in fifth place.
Meanwhile, the Blues’ unbeaten record remains intact after they secured victory over Liverpool on Saturday. Jose Mourinho’s men appear to be a cut above their rivals at present and they currently boast a four-point lead over second placed Southampton at the top of the table.
Matters appear to be significantly bleaker for Arsenal, however, who are now a huge 12 points behind the Stamford Bridge outfit after just 11 fixtures.
A title title from the North of the capital city now seems unlikely and Wenger has admitted his team will not be able to catch Chelsea should their impressive form continue.
“Nobody can keep the pace with Chelsea right now. If they maintain this rate, they’ll finish with 100 points, nobody can touch them,” he declared.
Such a statement will be music to Mourinho’s ears, with the flurry of fixtures over the festive period yet to played.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
