ARSENAL are considering splashing the cash in January with a £60m double swoop for Porto pair Jackson Martinez and Juan Quintero.
Martinez hinted he was expecting an offer from Liverpool at the start of the season but now the Gunners appear to be in pole position.
Reports in Portugal put Arsene Wenger’s side in command and suggest they are going to try and tempt summer target Quintero at the same time.
The Colombian was linked to a deadline-day switch to The Emirates with media in his native country claiming the forward was flying to London as the window drew to a close.
Neither transfer happened but there’s still interest form the Premier League side.
Both Porto men are valued around the £30m mark meaning Wenger would have to dip into his considerable financial reserves to the tune of £60m to make the deal happen.
