Arsenal manager Arsene Wenger has revealed that centre-back Laurent Koscielny will be out for three weeks and therefore miss the big Premier League clash with Manchester United on Sunday.
The France defender got injured during the UEFA Champions League defeat to Olympiacos on Tuesday.
Wenger also claims that he never made an offer to Monaco for Anthony Martial before the young France striker joined Manchester United.
“Martial was one of the players Monaco didn’t want to sell, so we never made any approach,” Wenger said at his pre-match press conference ahead of Sunday’s match.
“United offered special money.”
Wenger however refused to deny or confirm his interest in Morgan Schneiderlin, who reportedly rejected Arsenal for a United move.
The Arsenal manager insists that the league is wide open, even while praising leaders Manchester United and their coach Louis Van Gaal.
He said: “At the moment it is tight and difficult to say who will dominate the championship. You can’t come to a conclusion yet.
“The experience Van Gaal has in his career, it is no surprise Manchester United are doing well.”
