A stunning late show from West Brom saw them fight back from behind to beat Hull City 3-2 and progress to the League Cup fourth round.
Brown Ideye opened his West Brom account with a brave effort 15 minutes in, though the Nigerian’s commitment saw him sustain an injury that forced him off soon after.
Tom Ince scored four minutes from the break to level the scores and Hull themselves went in front soon after the interval as Robbie Brady smartly tucked home after good work from Hatem Ben Arfa.
A glut of late chances for West Brom eventually saw them break through as Gareth McAuley smashed in a late leveller.
And with extra time looming, Alan Irvine’s side snatched the win less than a minute later through Saido Berahino.
Victory for the Midlands side sees them snap a run of three consecutive eliminations at the third-round stage and they will travel to Bournemouth in the next phase.
