West Brom Fans Protest Against Ideye Sale

By James Agberebi:

Fans of West Bromwich Albion, have expressed their disappointment following the sale of Brown Ideye to Olympiakos on Monday.

The fans made their feelings known via the club's official facebook page.

A certain Callum Nicholls would rather have Ideye remain in the club than England fringe player, Saido Berahino.

"All the fans loved you here , wish you stayed one more year, would rather you be here than Berahino. Good luck at Greece. Hope you bang the goals in and do well in the Champions League. Unfair what happened to you. Good luck Brown Ideye ," Nicholls wrote.

Tom Blundell who wished Ideye the best of luck at Olympiakos, said he will not be forgotten: "All the best Bobby, top professional, won't be forgotten. Deserve all the luck in the world for you and your family. Bobby Bobby Brown!!!"

On his part, Adam Woodward, posited that the former Dynamo Kyiv forward deserved at least one more season to prove himself.

"I think he deserved one more year. He was a good player for us in the second half of last season under Pulis."

Adding his views too, Craig Wood, argued that the lack of opportunities denied Ideye the chance to show what he can do. He also urged him to score against Arsenal in the Champions League.

"Never given a real run in the team. Disappointing! Considering we broke our record to sign him. If only he had been given games, we could have judged him properly. Unfortunately, he will go down as a failure and that isn't fair judgment. Liked the runs he would make but the balls never arrived. Look forward to seeing you score against Arsenal in Champions League. All the best!"

Ideye joined the Baggies from Dynamo Kyiv in a then club record £10m.

He made 31 appearances in all competitions last season, scoring seven goals, but his only match this season came against Port Vale in the Capital One Cup.
