The January 2013 transfer deadline day has become etched in the history of West Bromwich Albion Football Club.
Out-of-favour Super Eagles striker Osaze Odemwingie drove to Queens Park Rangers' ground with hopes of getting a deal sorted whilst he was a player of West Bromwich Albion.
The infamous efforts made by the former Lokomotiv Moscow forward have been re-enacted, Completesportsnigeria.com reports.
As part of events leading to the Yuletide season, youngsters from the Baggies academy have acted out famous moments from the club’s history.
Everyday an article is posted on the official website in the build-up to Christmas, with most relating to memories on the pitch.
On Thursday the infamous long drive which Odemwingie undertook to London is making waves in the Midlands.
The Nigerian international drove to QPR' ground – despite no deal being agreed between the clubs – where he was promptly interviewed live on Sky Sports News.
Albion have now recreated the moment and praised Odemwingie – who left the Hawthorns during the next transfer window and now plays for Stoke City – for giving his blessing.
A message on the website said: "Three years on, we'd like to thank Peter Odemwingie for being a good sport.
“Of course, we haven't forgotten he had many great days too. Watch this space.”
Odemwingie has not been a feature in the Super Eagles after he was part of Nigeria's squad to the 2014 FIFA World Cup in Brazil.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
