Oklahoma City Thunder will have to do without star Russell Westbrook for their opener against Golden State Warriors on Wednesday. The Thunder were hoping to have Westbrook available for the start of the NBA regular season after the 29-year-old had arthroscopic surgery on his right knee back on September 12.
However, with Westbrook seemingly losing his fight to be ready for the showdown with the reigning champions, it looks like Oklahoma City are not willing to take the risk and rush the seven-time All-Star back too soon.
Having just signed a five-year contract extension worth $205million, the Thunder are understandably cautious over Westbrook, who has a long history of problems with his right knee.
