Westerhof, Iroha Hail Keshi’s Return

Nigeria Football federation, NFF and Stephen Keshi Tuesday ended their long-drawn hide-and-seek game over a new Super Eagles coaching contract with the Big Boss signing a fresh deal to manage the senior national team,Super Eagles with former Nigeria coach, Clemence Westerhof and Ben Iroha heaping plaudits on the two parties for toeing the path of honour.

“Keshi has signed a new contract for the Super Eagles, that’s good for him and also for the Super Eagles,” says Westerhofwhen Complete Sports called him up in his native country, Holland on Tuesday.

“The AFCON qualifiers is coming and I hope he settles down to work immediately. The Super Eagles must go to the Nations Cup in 2017.

“The federation (NFF) did well to give him a new contract, that’s the right thing to do and I salute them”, Westerhop added.

Similarly, former Super Eagles left-back, Ben Iroha, Tuesday expressed delight that Keshi has finally been re-engaged as Super Eagles manager.

Iroha spoke from his base in the United States of America, USA, commending NFF for ending the long wait over Keshi’s Super Eagles fate.

“That’s the best way to go, I’m happy for him, I’m also happy for the NFF, at last that continuity we’ve been talking about has been embraced.

“We can now look forward to a new era and that must start with the 2017 AFCON qualifiers”, Iroha said.
