By Adeboye Amosu:
Egyptian club, Zamalek , are considering naturalizing Nigerian midfielder Moruf Yusuf in order to keep him at the club and out of the confines of Egyptian League naturalisation policy, reports Completesportsnigeria.com.
Yusuf, 25, according to a report in Kingfut.com is considering leaving Zamalek due to the foreign players’ quota as The Whites currently have five foreign players in their team.
Tunisian duo, Hamdi Nagguez and Ferjani Sassi, Morocco’s Hamid Ahadda and Kabongo Kasongo of DR Congo are the other four foreigners at the club.
He joined Zamalek from another Egyptian side, Ittihad Al-Shorta in 2014 and has been an integral part of the team’s setup despite the several managerial changes the team has undergone.
And Zamalek president, Mortada Maansour according to report is keen on helping the midfielder secure Egyptian citizenship.
That could also give him the chance to represent Egypt at the international level.
He was handed his maiden call-up by Nigeria last year but is yet to earn a cap with the Super Eagles.
Yusuf was called-up by Nigeria last year but didn’t play, meaning he could still represent the Pharoahs if he is granted the citizenship.
The midfielder once revealed that he nearly represented the Pharaohs during Bob Bradley’s reign, but couldn’t get the Egyptian citizenship at that time.
He has played 133 matches for Zamalek scoring seven and providing 14 assists.Fastest Paying Betting Site in Nigeria: Grab your 140% First Time Deposit Bonus Now — www.Sportybet.Com Copyright © 2021 Completesports.com All rights reserved.
