The Maracanazo is a term that haunts many Brazilians but Willian is keen to help Brazil fans forget about the match by winning the 2014 World Cup.
The last time Brazil hosted a World Cup was in 1950 but they failed to win the tournament and instead lost disastrously in the final to Uruguay.
This result is still considered as one of the biggest upsets in football history and the Chelsea midfielder wants to give the joy back to the fans.
The 25-year-old told The Times of India about how Brazil want to win the tournament in style, Goal.com quoted Willian.
He said: “(The Maracanazo) is something every fan in has not forgotten yet, and neither have the Brazil media.
“We want to do it differently. We want to give Brazilians the joy of the championship.”
